"Though you fly to Greece, and never see him again, or forget his very name, George will work in your thoughts till you die. It isn't possible to love and to part. You will wish that it was. You can transmute love, ignore it, muddle it, but you can never pull it out of you. I know by experience that the poets are right: love is eternal."

I love A ROOM WITH A VIEW! E.M. Forster was a smart man.
ReplyDeleteThose poets. They're always right. Should we curse them or love them for it?

The book was pure beauty itself, and the resonance of truth within the lovely descriptions is almost painful! I just love a Room with a View, and the adaption with Helen Bonham Carter is LOVE.
Wonderful book. Wonderful movie. That's so rare. Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm glad you're taking some time off between blog posts. I take whole weeks off, Marie! You've got to if you want to accomplish anything.
My son (yes, the cancer kid)signed up for NaNoWriMo. He's right on target with his word count too. He's amazing. Definitely my inspiration.
This quote transports me. As does the movie, which is one of my all time faves.
