My husband ruled the radio all weekend, so my head's spinning through classic rock lyrics this morning. Sometimes I get so used to the words, I don't hear them anymore. This one struck me as so apt for the times, I stopped in my tracks and jotted.

ReplyDeleteI heard a great one last week that made me think of you but I forgot to jot it down and now I can't think of what it was to save my life. Darn.
I used to use Rush 2112 in my English class as a companion to Anthem by Any Ryand. It worked well.
ReplyDeleteIn college, one of our professors had us bring in the lyrics to a current pop song that we thought was "poetry."
ReplyDeleteAs you can imagine, I liked this assignment very much!
Everyone did. People think poetry is dead, but music is more popular that ever, and some of those lyrics are pure poetry.
