From: "Closer to the Heart"

"The men who hold high places
must be the ones who start
to mold a new reality
closer to the heart."

Rush

My husband ruled the radio all weekend, so my head's spinning through classic rock lyrics this morning. Sometimes I get so used to the words, I don't hear them anymore. This one struck me as so apt for the times, I stopped in my tracks and jotted.

  1. Good one. :)
I heard a great one last week that made me think of you but I forgot to jot it down and now I can't think of what it was to save my life. Darn.

  2. I used to use Rush 2112 in my English class as a companion to Anthem by Any Ryand. It worked well.

  3. In college, one of our professors had us bring in the lyrics to a current pop song that we thought was "poetry."

As you can imagine, I liked this assignment very much!

Everyone did. People think poetry is dead, but music is more popular that ever, and some of those lyrics are pure poetry.
