Such a great movie. I didn't read the book. Is it better than the movie?

Obviously ranking movies is extremely subjective, but I found Shawshank to be one of the most uplifting and well-written movies I have ever watched.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree, michael. The Shawshank Redemption is a great example of flawless storytelling.
ReplyDeleteKaren, I read the story for a class years ago, and I can't really remember it very clearly--that suggests the movie has more lasting power, but you have to give King credit (C'mon writers, you understand.).
The Shawshank Redemption is my absolute all-time favorite movie. And that's probably my favorite quote from it. So thank you.
ReplyDeleteOne of these years, I'll get around to reading the story. Yes, you're right. You have to give Stephen King credit. He created these wonderful characters.
Anytime, Joanne.
ReplyDeleteI say those seven little words to myself whenever I come to a crossroads and find that the best decision is also the most difficult (which is like always--am I right?).
I need a poster version of this in my computer room to motivate. FAb quote!
